CLASS II BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINETS

CII Biosafety Cabinets

Class II hoods provide personnel, environmental, and product protection for a range of low- to moderate-risk materials. These biological safety cabinets are used in research, clinical, industrial, and pharmacy settings. With Class II cabinets, airflow is drawn into the front grille of the unit, providing personnel protection. In addition, the downward flow of HEPA-filtered air provides product protection by minimizing the chance of cross-contamination across the work surface of the hood. Exhaust air is passed through a certified HEPA filter to provide particulate filtration to protect the environment. For Class II, Type A1 and A2 BSCs, exhaust air may be recirculated to the laboratory or, alternatively, it may be discharged from the building via a canopy, or “thimble,” connected to the building’s exhaust. CDC regulation standards require exhaust air for Class II, Types B1 and B2 BSCs be discharged directly to the outdoors via a hard connection.

CLASS I BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINETS

CI Biosafety Cabinet

Germfree’s Class I Biological Safety Cabinets provide personnel protection for handling of low risk particulate and aerosols.  Air flows from the room, past the operator and over the work area to provide a negative pressure air barrier to exhaust fumes, aerosols and other chemical irritants or odors. Class I BSC’s are available for applications including necropsies, surgeries, specimen dissections, tissue grossing, perfusions and histology work. Configurations include Pathology Downdraft Tables, Ventilated Workstations, and Balance Enclosures.

POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION CABINETS

PCR Hoods

ermfree manufactures PCR Workstations and cabinets for processes involving Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification and manipulation of DNA and RNA. We offer a range of PCR cabinets, including units that protect personnel and the work environment while protecting samples from contamination. Amplification processes are very sensitive and proper sterility levels are required to achieve accurate PCR results. Process contamination and cross-contamination are a serious concern that Germfree’s PCR Cabinets solve. PCR in general requires a controlled air environment, while some require personnel protection from potential particulate and aerosol hazards– Germfree offers products to meet all these needs.

DUCTLESS FUME HOODS

HEPA Filtered Fume Hood

Germfree specializes in the manufacture and integration of advanced laboratory equipment for a wide variety of applications. We specialize in energy-saving workstations that have minimal exhaust CFM requirements.

CLEANROOM PASS-THROUGHS

Static and HEPA-Purge

Germfree’s line of Cleanroom Pass-Through Boxes are designed to facilitate the safe transfer of materials between work areas within a pharmaceutical cleanroom. Sealed pass-through boxes maintain complete environmental separation between work areas. The pass-through box air eliminates cross contamination between work areas during both material ingress and egress.  All stainless steel construction with coved interior and exterior corners and a pharmaceutical grade finish make these pass-through boxes the most cleanable and robust on the market.
